Underneath the covers
we dream our heart's desires
of horses and rainbows
before they expire
We dream of wind,
fire, and rain
hoping they will
take away the pain
Of the last heart ache
you want another
who won't break
your heart, like the others
But the dreams
bring back an old flame
of the pain
which you couldn't tame
So you are afraid
to fall in to a deep sleep
for the dreams
bring back horrors that seep
In to your fragile mind
they try to break
the protected world of yours
with love's stake

Dance

You dance a dance of colors
A dance that has no words
A dance that is for seeing only
But not for understanding
A dance that memorizes everyone
With the gracefully movements
Of balance and the elegant leaps
From pointed toe to pointed toe
A dance that sings of moonlight
And the light touch of feathers
A dance that paints a picture
Of sunsets and shooting stars
A dance that whispers
Of walks in the rain and winter fires
A dance that chants of
Love and remembrance
A dance to soothe the soul
A dance to warm the heart

Because Of You

These tears that roll down my face,
You caused them.
The sobs that rack my chest,
And make it hard to breathe.
These are the results of your actions,
The results of the pain that you inflicted on me.
You caused me pain, you hurt me,
You hurt me on purpose and then,
When you'd had your fun,
And everything was over,
You realized what you'd done.
Then you were sorry.
But your apology will can not fix this,
It will never change the fact of what you did,
Of what you did to me,
I will always remember what you did,
And now I will always remember you as someone who hurt me,
Who hurt me on purpose.
After the salty tears have dried on my face,
Even after years have passed,
I will remember.
And this wound will still be raw.
No matter what you do,
It will never change the fact,
That you hurt me for your own amusement and entertainment.

A Falling Star

Two angels fell in love
Up in Holy Heaven above
A truer love can not be found
Together their souls had been bound
One day the angel fell to earth
It was an accident for she was of much worth
But a demonic demon found her there
Death to her he declared
She fought long and hard
Though the demon had a sword greatly charred
He swung and thrust
In her instincts she had to trust
She dodged, circling and trampling the grass
As sword and air did clash
Finally she could fight no more
And lay heavily on the floor
The laughing demon raised his sword high
To deliver death with a battle cry
Sweeping off her golden halo
She stopped his deadly blow
His fiery sword cut bitter and deep
And from her halo, a piece did leap
Before another blow he could land
She took the heavenly halo in her hand
She stabbed it in his chest
And put his beating heart to rest
As red blood flowed down
The angel in her tears, almost drowned
For to kill another is a sin
She could never return to the place she had once been
From Heaven she was banished
Many tears on her were lavished
Up in Heaven her angel cried
It was as if she had died
He could never be with her
It was killing him like murder
When no longer could he bear it
Everything abandoned him including wit
He decided to fall from Heaven
Down to the place of men
In the image of a falling star
He fell to that planet so far
He found his love now they're together
Loving each other always and forever
But just remember
When a star falls, bright as an ember
That falling star you see
Is an angel falling free

Fallen In Love

I don't know his name
Or his favorite color
But I do know that I've fallen in love
Fallen in love
With the sound his voice
The curves of his face
The brown of eyes
The shape of his nose

With the arch of his lips
With his exquisite smile

With the greatest man on earth
He rules my heart
Like he rules the land
He keeps it whole
He keeps it safe
He takes care of it
Through the day and into the night

With a man who doesn't know my name
He doesn't even know that I exist
But that's ok as long as I can look at him

Forgotten Fairy Tale

What happens to a forgotten fairy tale?
Does it lose the rhythm of its words
Like an actor forgets his lines?
Or disappear like the sun behind the moon during an eclipse
And vanish from view?
Do its pages shrivel up like a leaf consumed by fire?
Or fade sweetly and lose shape
Like a flower diminishes after it blooms
Maybe it just falls apart, sentence by sentence
Like a crumbling canyon wall
Or does it sit in the back of a library waiting for the next lonely bookworm?

Warlock King

The grand Warlock King
Descends from his great throne
At the beginning of every Spring
Down to the world of innocent mortals
He uses a magical spell
With his soft eyes of velvet brown
So that at the sound of his deep voice
Your knees tremble and fall to the ground
At the touch of his gentle hand
It becomes impossible to utter a sound
And the fiery caress of his eyes
Makes your once steady heart pound
His spell he does spin ever so carefully
Every thread and piece has its place
This web of seduction
Has a sweet angel's face
The air glitters and shines
As the Master works his terrible magic
And the hand of the clock begins to tick
Watching the minutes of his love begin to fly away
In the warm sunshine of his love
You flourish and bloom
But all too soon
Autumn is here
He's gone and he's taken his affection too
His spell broken, the threads of his web unraveled
Left all alone, you run and hide
Burying yourself deep inside
Waiting for the day
Your sweet Warlock will return
Wrapping you up in his cruel spell of love
Watching the petals of his love begin to burn

Circle Of Entrapment

Within a carefully watched circle
We dance
As the sparkle of other's eyes surrounds us,
Traps us, suffocates us
Our feet perform the same moves,
Spinning us closer and farther from each other
The heat radiates off us
And the sweat shines brightly on our faces
The closer we get, the faster we dance
Our bodies moving seamlessly
To the music of our pounding hearts
The words of other's ripple through the air
Whispering and predicting
Weaving a silver wall of entrapment
Deciding our future and our end
Inside of the circle of prediction
We sway
Always moving, always face to face
But never meeting eyes
These feelings press down upon us
Filling our heads with questions
And our hearts with longing
But are they really ours?
Too many have given their opinion,
Added their spice to the pot
Everything is clouded and confused
Two outstretched hands, so near to touching
But each snatched back close to their owner
Too many eyes, too many watchers
Too much predicted, too much set in stone
Around and around we dance
Around and around each other
So many signs point
In the other's direction
But still a doubt, still a fear
Is this the right choice, are these my feelings
Is this really my decision?

Plain Of Loneliness

My heart wanders over a wide-open plain,
Stumbling across the dirt,
The land stretches before me,
Echoing of loneliness and emptiness
The sky grows dark with clouds
Thunder sounds in the distance,
Lightning flashes, expanding
The vast empty space of the plains
My soul cries out in the drenching rain
Falling to my knees with despair
Rain blurs my eyes so I cannot see
But it does not matter
For all I feel is the anguish and cold
Deep within me
I lie in the grass,
Covered in dust turned to mud,
Weeping bitterly
But my cries cannot be not heard
Over the roar of the storm
My heart feels like it will burst
Almost like an erupting volcano
Dark loneliness falls down like ash
Covering my mind, heart, and soul

Mystery

You are a plague upon my mind
A curse that fills my soul
A mystery is spun around you
A shroud I long to unweave
Memories and visions of you
Float through my head
I can not banish them
For part of me wishes them to stay
I dance with images of what could be
I smile at dreams of the future
I twirl with the sweet melody of us
And will it to be so
Pink petals fall around me
Showering me with joy
Surrounding me with arms of love
Enfolding me in thoughts of you
But within this blessed, hateful curse
Lies bitterness and truth
Strangers are we, from distant lands
Too far to ever really be near
Mountains and seas block my way to you
Throwing up their arms and forcing me back
I can only stare across their endless boundaries
And see the timeless reflection of you
For that is all I really know
A reflection of you
A mirrored image that takes your shape
And says the things that you might say
But no deeper have I see or gone
Just a glimpse of what may lie within
Not a heart of stone or steel
But of smooth glass that can easily be broken
I am tormented by what I can not have
Or rather by what I do not know
A mystery you are to me
And sadly I feel, a mystery you will remain
